meet marissa

Marissa Solomon is a multi-platform storyteller with experience across broadcast, digital, and audio, with a particular focus on building stories that are designed to reach audiences where they actually are, especially on social.

In Denver, Solomon produced for Colorado’s most-watched newscast, “Next with Kyle Clark,” while also creating and shaping content for digital and social platforms. Her work doesn’t end at broadcast. She focuses on how stories travel, how they’re framed for different audiences, and what makes someone stop scrolling and engage.

Her background includes line producing, digital production, writing, end-to-end podcast editing, and on-camera hosting. She’s developed and produced social-first videos, written and published digital stories, and helped translate traditional newsroom content into formats that perform across platforms.

The intersection of journalism and audience strategy is one of Solomon’s primary interests in her current position as a multiplatform content producer for Tegna/Nextstar’s Growth team. She explores how strong reporting and thoughtful distribution work together. She brings both a newsroom foundation and a digital-first mindset, with an understanding that how a story is told is just as important as where it’s seen.
Her goal is to produce journalism that is rigorous, accessible, and built to connect—on air, online, and in the palm of your hand.

At 9NEWS in Denver, Solomon specialized in political reporting, crime and courts, and special projects. She was a go-to for stories that required speed, accuracy, and clarity. On social, that means making quick editorial decisions about what matters most, how to present it, and how to maintain trust while competing for attention in crowded feeds.

A five-time Heartland Emmy award nominee and one-time Emmy award winning journalist, Solomon was a key member of the team covering the death of Christian Glass. Her coverage won a Regional Edward R. Murrow for Continuing Coverage, Best Investigative Report from the Colorado Broadcaster’s Association and a Heartland Emmy.

Solomon earned a Bachelor’s degree in Newspaper and Online Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Despite her love of print and a hard copy, broadcast called her across the country to the mountains. She reads (arguably too much) Shakespeare in her spare time, she skis (also maybe too much) and enjoys the earthy-crunchy joys of Colorado.
